couple of questions, please clarify,
1) Is it safe to use hibernate version 4.2.17 to Support fractional seconds on MySQL 5.7, does it have the required dialect and any other changes incorporated part of this version (4.2.17) ?
2) also does version 4.2.17 include the fix for solving the issue mentioned here - https://hibernate.atlassian.net/browse/HHH-3822 ?

Hi,

1) Yes, you need to use MySQL57InnoDBDialect
2) That issue looks like an old MySQL driver problem that might have gotten fixed. You need to validate it though.
