Hi,

I want to do an upgrade to the latest 4.3 hibernate(-core) version (4.3.11.Final). My current version is: 4.1.7.Final .
Is there some kind of "migration guide" available (package refactoring, etc)?
Or maybe some minimal pointers to obstacles along the way?

Or do you recommend to upgrade directly to 5.1 (which seems harder IMO)?

I'm not sure there is a migration guide for 4.1 -> 4.3. There is such a guide for 5.0, and 5.1.
You can upgrade to 5.1, but there are some things that have changed as depicted in the 5.0, and 5.1 migration guide.

Hi. Thx. There actually is a migration guide for 4.x->5.0 and for 5.0->5.1 .
But i explicitily asked for a 4.1->4.3 migration path:
* because i expected some 'package refactorings' since the 4.3 is actually thé JPA 2.0->2.1 upgrade;
* and secondly; i want to see the difference in workload for the 4.1->4.3 path against 4.1->5.1 path.
A 4.1->4.3 migration path or similar would help me. Hence my question.

Unfortunately, there's no such guide.

However, you can find all this info on the Hibernate blog:
