Migrated from Hibernate3 to 5 version. Deployment is failing with rg.hibernate.tool.schema.spi.SchemaManagementException: Schema-validation: missing column [default_column_name] in table [joined_table] for a java.util.Map column type. Any idea on the solution part of this kind of problem?

The naming strategy has changed in Hibernate 5.
If you want to switch to the legacy naming strategy, you need to set the hibernate.implicit_naming_strategy configuration property to either: legacy-hbm or legacy-jpa, depending on what you've been used before.
