Hi Guyz,

As I am gonna start working on the architecture of a new J2EE project, I thought of seeking expert advise on the hibernate version. In my previous project I was using 3.6, so please advise me whether 4.1 is production ready, and I can go ahead with my decision to use the latest one ?

Thanks

4.0 is unmaintained, 4.1 is pretty much the stable version of it and the one on which JBoss supported products are based.
3.6 is still maintained for those having a support contract but we're focusing only on 4.1 and upcoming 5; of course you could provide patches if you need that version specifically, but I wouldn't suggest it for a new project.

Thanks Sanne, it was pretty helpful. I am planning for a Spring 3+Hibernate 4.1 deploy in tomcat for an e-commerce website, will post the details if I am seeing any issues with the tomcat deployment. Till then thanks a lot.
