Hi there,
This issue has been raised quite a long time back,but wanted to raise it again to know the status and development plans for the same.

The questions I have is:
1. There seems no support for performing outer joins without associations in the entity. So if I need to take 2 random unrelated entities and join them via Criteria or HQL, I cannot do this. Is this still the case with the latest releases of Hibernate?
2. If its not supported, what is the plan for supporting this if there is any?
3. Any idea of the support of the same in JPA?
