hello everybody,
I am new to hibernate,i am just started. err... no actually i am to get started.
I'm unable to configure hibernate in my project.. I am following the Professional Hibernate by Pugh, Gradecki. but can't able to configure hibernate and make the database connectivity.
Actually i am totally confused about the whole process.

I am using hibernate for the first time, so please someone help me.
how could i configure hibernate in the netbeans?

whether i should set the classpath for jTDS.jar in the same way as we set the classpath for jdk?
and can i access that from the command prompt, but i use netbeans, can it be useful for that als
If i want to use jTDS driver for SQL connection, where should i put the jTDS.jar file in netbeans??

How to map tables of the database with the hibernate??

where to find the DTD file??

Netbeans has DerbyClient, what is that? is it some database connecting driver? What if i want to change it??

I am using Netbeans 6.9.1 version and SQL2008 database. Operating system is Windows 7 Professional.
