I have a hibernate annotated project, managed by maven 2. The client has a database table with a column called "contraseña" (the ñ is a non-ascii character).

When I generate the schema with the hibernate2.maven-plugin (which uses hbm2ddl I presume), the resulting file has the ñ wrongly encoded when read as UTF8
I've tried the following:
[list=][*]Source code files in UTF8
[*]encoding property for maven:<project.build.sourceEncoding>UTF8</project.build.sourceEncoding>
[*]<encoding>UTF-8</encoding> in the maven-resources-plugin
[/list]
I know this could have to do with the maven plugin, but as it has hbm2ddl under the hood it seems more logical to search over here.

Has anybody seen this, and found a solution?
