 Post subject: property not mapped to a column in a table

I need to create a property in a hbm file that is not mapped to a column in a database, just a property to set a value and get it. What should I use? Thanks

Just don't map it in the HBM file, only define a field, getters / setters.
Remember that every time you load this instance from the database, the field will be null.
