i am new to this hibernate. any body plz tell me what is hibernate.dialect? and how it will works and use

Hibernate dialect tells Hibernate what type of database (and also in some cases, database engine) you are using. That way, it can issue the right statements for whatever your'e using.

It will also translate some hql functions into database specific SQL code.
