Wow! what a nicely written chapter... I was on a constant uphill struggle to understand and use Hibernate in my development environment. The tutorials and sample codes I followed on the web were leading me in different directions giving more confusion and always end up with some dead alley. Finally by some divine intervene or some good karma of my ancestors, I was able to stumble upon the chapter 2 and if few minutes, I was able to follow the content and able to create my own O/R mapping, objects to create things and populate my HSQL db.

The authors C Bauer and G King have done an very excellent and great job, making the this chapter clear and to the point making it not an overload and available to not so newbie like me. I am going to buy the book, and I am going to enjoy reading and learning the rest of the stuff.
