 Post subject: Pure native scalar queries are not yet supported

I'm using JPA on top of Hibernate EntityManager 3.3.2.GA. When I try to define a named-native-query in the mapping file, I always encounter the following exception:

org.hibernate.cfg.NotYetImplementedException: Pure native scalar queries are not yet supported

Does Hibernate support named native query for JPA?
