Seems to be something wrong with your libs. Did you take them all from the hibernate distribution?

I am using cglib-full-2.0-RC2.jar in the application not the hibernate distribution

Well, as you see the problem is because of cglib. You cannot change a library to a different release if the api has changed, you have to use the distributions cglib.

I have got the specific cglib jar file which works fine now
