Hibernate search 3.1.0GA
lucene 2.4.0GA

After upgrade from lucene 2.3.0, HSearch 3.0.1 to 2.4.0 and 3.1.0, the similarity score now are greater than 1. Can anyone tell me how to normalize the score less than 1?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

the reason why it score is greater than one is that the Search.search which returns Hits got deprecated. It was the Hits class which did the normalization. Within Hibernate Search the search method returning TopDocs is used. The score within TopDocs is not normalized.

I believe the Lucene community what's to get rid of the whole score normalization thing. You can find more information about this by starting here - http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LUCENE-954.
