Hi!
Our software should support 2 modes of work - with RDBMS and with plain files.

Can I use hibernate for both modes? Something like a presudo JDBC driver which will store objects in plain files (XML or provided by me serialization) and will support some subset of SQL?

Thank you

You can user HSQL to store your data in a file.
It is a lightweight database written entirely in Java, and can be distributed along with your application. Hope it helps.
