Hi,

I know this might sound silly, but is there any way to toggle versioning on/off?

I need to create some objects, using their timestamp as a versioning restriction. This is safe enough for user interaction.
However, I also need to create some batches that have to work as efficient as possible. They read in some files & save them to the database. Therefore, I would like to drop the 'select' statements I need in order to fetch the db-timestamp.

It would be nice if hibernate should only check the versioning, if I include the timestamp in the object. If the timestamp is null, hibernate should drop the check.

any ideas?

thanks in advance,

Sven
