I have a case where I have an entity from which I want to use its id for a query. The id is long based and since it is also a documentid I assume this shouldn't be a problem.

Is there something particular about this case that should/needs to be done?

Hi,

your use case should work out of the box.
In case you are planning to sort your results on the id you have to remember though that numbers have to be padded in order to become comparable in Lucene. See the different examples of PaddedIntegerBridge in the online documentation.
