Hello everybody,
I am thinking about using Hibernate tools for my project. I have been reading tutorials about hibernate, but I only find those which tackle code generation (application driven) or database generation (database-driven) problems.

In my case the java code and the database are already defined. The idea is that the java code simulate the execution of a UML statechart and
the database is defined in order to record the generated objects as the java code is run. The database schema is different from the java code schema, that is why I have not used the Hibernate database generation option. So, I have the java code and the database schema and I would like to establish the mapping between them.

Somobody knows of any other project in which only mapping is required? Is there any manual in which I can find information about this specific issue?

Thank you very much in advance
Bea
