Here is the text at the end of hibernate reference 9.1.4. section. What's mean of this. I am totally cofused. I don't know where to place this many-to-one relation. We can't query root class without this?

For any of these mapping strategies, a polymorphic association to the root Payment class is mapped using <many-to-one>.

<many-to-one name="payment" column="PAYMENT_ID" class="Payment"/>
