Our database tables are structured around having a key column(s), a set of columns used for listing and then a clob holding the full xml of the entity we are persisting.

The key fields and listing columns all have getters on the entity but the XML is generated using JAXB and has no getter or setter.

When saving the data I need to serialize out using jaxb and put in the xml column while using getters to set the other columns, when retrieving I need to create the object from the XML column entirely. Is it possible to do this with hibernate?
