where to place the Hibernate annotation?

1. the fields or the method?
2.what is the difference between these two different way?

I did the annotation in the method, then removed and placed in the fields, then I got an error showing : sql grammer error.

There are no differens. You can place the annotations in the fields or in the methods. If you don't want a field to be persistent then mark it with the transient keyword.

Can you please post the sql grammar error so we can take a look at it.
