Is there a way to prevent the validation from preventing a save or update?

I'm trying to use the Hibernate Validation framework to provided messaging back up to the presentation level (Struts).

To this end I'm not sure how best to propogate warning type messages. This could occur when an end-user can continue to save an object even though it does not fully pass validation.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
