Hibernate version: 3.1

Ok, i understand that hibernate apply Criteria.DISTINCT_ROOT_ENTITY in memory, after execute query.
In hql, distinct word is executed on db level.
Is there any way how i can apply distinct in sql, when use Criteria API? (same behavior as HQL)

I am using simple inner join.
