Hibernate version: 3.0

Name and version of the database you are using: MySQL 5

I had a peculiar problem. I recieve this exception.

org.hibernate.exception.LockAcquisitionException : could not perform jdbc batch update.

could anyone explain me why this occurs?

Post the entire stack trace, there should be a cause that is the JDBC exception.

Actually, i couldn't get a stacktrace because, the error or exception occured only once and i couldn't reproduce it.

What would be a general cause to arise this exception? Could you explain?

Some other process had the row or table locked. e.g. backup processes, other applications that access/modify the same data.
