I'm afraid I'm not totally familiar with the compatibility levels from Hibernate 3.x to NHibernate 1.2. If a code conversion (java to C#) was done of the Hibernate Shards and Validator libraries. Would they even be compatible?

I see Ayende released a test version of Search to svn. Any plans for the other libraries? I would be willing to take a look into it further if there are no plans currently on the table for either of them.

NHibernate 1.2 is somewhere between Hibernate 2.1 and 3.2, it's not yet up to date with Hibernate 3.2. I don't know of any plans to port those two libraries.

I doubt that you will be able to convert Validator automatically as I don't think any conversion tool currently available can handle Java annotations and convert them to attributes. As for Shards, I don't know, I haven't even looked at it yet.

I'll port these libraries if it is possible to do so against NHibernate 1.2 without any internal changes. I wouldn't run it through some code convertor.

Now you can use NHibernate.Validator from trunk.
