I have just switched to annotations 3.3.0 and get a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError when doing this in my HibernateUtil class:

new AnnotationConfiguration();

I'm having the same problem, well exception, the hibernate annotations jar is on my classpath, but I still get this error. The ReflectionManager does not seems to exist in the annotations jar 3.3.0.ga

Any idea?

Hi i solved the problem.
I changed the javax.persistence.OrderBy for org.hibernate.annotations.OrderBy and it worked fine.
i.e.
@OneToMany( fetch=FetchType.LAZY )
@org.hibernate.annotations.OrderBy( clause="SEQ_NUM" ) // it works!
//@javax.persistence.OrderBy(value="seqNumber") it doesn't work!
@org.hibernate.annotations.IndexColumn(name = "SEQ_NUM")
public List<Things> getThings() {
return things;
}
