 Post subject: how to exclude persisted property inherited from parent

I have a class A with a persisted property x. I also have a persisted class B which inherits from A. Hibernate is persisting a property x in class B's table and I would like for that property to not be persisted. Is there a way to tell Hibernate to not persist B.x using annotations?

Re ask this question in the users forum as ore people will see it. Also, we would like to try and retain this forum for tools.
