Can anyone comment on the insert performance of the "identity" generator class with MS SQL Server? Does the need for the extra "select SCOPE_IDENTITY()" actually require a separate trip to the database, or is it batched together with the Insert statement?

Thanks,
jon

Its batched together. This is pretty standard in any SQL server database communication... not sure why it would be considered somehow worse under NHibernate than anything else.
