hi,
Is it compulsory to have "Id" column for tables of a database for which hibernate is to be used. If NO than what is(are) the other ways of using hibernate as ORM when underlying database tables doesn't have "Id" column (for example in legacy applications).

fabricate a primary key via a composite-key, and use all or as many of the attributes that you want.
