Currently, NHibernate loads 69 mappings in 16 seconds. Is there any way to speed it up? Thanks.

That is WAY too much time.
What are you doing on startup?
Please include the logs from the application startup.

I am loading 200+ and that is fast enough that I never measured.

If you've got your log level set to debug it can take a while...

Symon.

If this is 1.0.x, disabling the reflection optimizer will help (hibernate.use_reflection_optimizer = false).

Post your nhibernate version and your nhibernate config settings.

Do you have log4net set up? Are you logging at a debugging level? Do you have show sql set to true?

This did the trick. Thanks. Should I be concerned about the application unexpectedly breaking somewhere?

No, it might just run marginally slower in some cases, you need to test yourself.
