 Post subject: Composite key and Equals()

I could not understand why does Equals() has to be overriden in business entities which is mapped to a table which has composite keys.

Can anybody throw light on this?

I think thats because the hibernate uses hashmap to provide caching internally so when you have a composite key we have to override equals method.
