Hi

I'm getting a NoCachingEnabledException when I try and create my SessionFactory through the Hibernate Console (see below for full stack trace). The same SessionFactory is working in my application, which is configured using Spring xml files.

I've tried the usual tricks of doing a Clean build and restarting Eclipse. I've also tried copying the hibernate.cache.use_query_cache=true property in my .properties file (which is referenced by my Hibernate console config), to my hibernate.cfg.xml file - no difference.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Its almost definitely just a config problem, as it all works as a org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.LocalSessionFactoryBean in my Spring setup.

you should either

a) remove your cache declarations from your mapping files

b) remove any query cache setting

c) choose a cacheprovider (the NoCacheProvider is one that doesn't do anything)

Thanks Max

I took out all references to the second level and query cache in my Hibernate config file and properties file, and its working now.
