Hibernate version: 3.1

Eclipse version : 3.1.2
Tools plugin version : 3.1 beta5 (also tried 3.2 beta6a)

The Code Generation menu item (under Run) was there, now its
gone.

I have tried to reset and edit the hibernate console perspective,
the hibernate code gen is available, however it seems to have
lost its toolbar mapping??

Is there another way to get the code gen console up??

you are not using the latest release. there were issues with b5 about this.

use beta7.

This did seem to work initially, however the bug came back again later.
I did a eclipse -clean which seemed to fix.
