@Filter with @Inheritance(strategy = InheritanceType.JOINED)

A filter "works" only if I place it in the hierarchy base class. Can I hook filters on subclasses?

no but your filter can use any column

my filter can use any column in the same table. But It can not use joined table columns, can it?

ah, yes you'll have to use a subselect, which might not be really efficient

thanks, sometimes subselects are acceptable.
