The creation of my hbm.xml config files is automated through use of hbm2hbmxml. I also define hibernate.reveng.xml to be used during this automation process.

I need to implement second-level caching but do not want to manually change the created hbm.xml files to add the caching definitions.

Is it possible to use hibernate.reveng.xml for this? If so how ?

no, reveng.xml nor programmatic reverseeng supports anything in this context.

current solution is to hack the templates.
