The generated SQL (show_sql=true):

I want to do something like this

select name,emailaddress
from employee outer join user on
employee.emailaddress = user.emailaddress

How can I do the same in HQL.

In short words: arbitrary joins are not supported by Hibernate.
You could however do that in SQL and return object from the SQL
