Hibernate version: Hibernate annotations 3.1 beta8

Name and version of the database you are using: DB2 v8

In my program I need to select a sequence from the database. Is there a way I can use hibernate to select the sequence so that it's portable over those databases that support sequences?

Any help greatly appreciated!
