What kind of set does hibernate use to instantiate collections?

Set blah = new AbstractSet()/HashSet/TreeSet....;

org.hibernate.collection.PersistentSet or org.hibernate.collection.PersistentSortedSet.

Have a look at the source code from Hibernate
