You need:

- PHP5 (this is in alpha or beta at the moment!)
- latest coWiki (http://www.develnet.org/)
- a MySQL database
- the Hibernate skin (I can provide this)

Maybe we can arrange a subdomain for you like china.hibernate.org? (I know that this is propably not a good name). We can run this on the same server as www.hibernate.org and only make it a new virtual host. What is your plan for the content?

Do you want this to be an "official" subdivision of the Hibernate website or your own playground with only some Hibernate content?

Thank your quick replay! I have registered hibernate.org.cn domain name and I will switch [url]hibernate.fankai.com[/url]to [url]forum.hibernate.org.cn[/url] in a few day. I prefer to be chinese "official" subdivision of the Hibernate.org, but I want to run hibernate.org.cn in my server of china. Because accessing hibernate.org by browser from China is slow and accessing hibernate.fankai.com is very fast .

My server's cofiguration is below:

Linux, Apache2.0.44, PHP4.3.1, MySQL4.0.13

Do you think whether I can install cowiki software?

What shall I do and what rule I must follow if I let hibernate.org.cn be official subdivision of the Hibernate.org?

Do you have any opinion about phpwiki? I downloaded it and prepare to test.

Forget all other wikis, they suck. There's a reason why the Hibernate is good and its not only the content, but coWiki. Unfortunately, it requires PHP5, so you can't run it on your PHP4 host. But it's actually not that difficult to compile it as a CGI binary and only use it for a particular virtual host, not as an Apache module.

We are busy right now with preparation/travel to JAOO (which starts on monday) and we never thought about "national" divisions of the Hibernate website. Give us some more time (maybe another week or two?) to think about it and what other translations we can do of some of the content.

Until then, I suggest you try to install coWiki, because we should use at least the same skin for these websites. It will also ease content sharing.
