I have an object. When I edit the object I create a similar new object with the changes. I have to save this new object and get the Id and set that in the former object and save it. How can I do this? What do I need to in the hbm.xml file?

There are easy-to-read docs on this site with an overview of mapping files and some example code. You will need about 2 hours to read through quickly and play a bit.

http://www.hibernate.org/hib_docs/refer ... index.html

If you have trouble then, post back with some code and a more specific question.

Happy hibernating

Michael
