Why is JIRA HHH-551 closed?

Being able to use the property-ref attribute in the <key> tag inside of a <join> is a documented feature in Hibernate 3.x. However, it doesn't work. Instead, it always uses the primary-key field of the parent class.

I would think that one would at least have kept HHH-551 open to track when the issue is "fixed" (or "implemented" as Gavin suggests).

This feature is really great for Legacy databases! I wish I could use it. :-(

because there exist a current TODO and it is not implemented. just as it says.
