Is there a status about when or if this will be possible, or a way to implement it myself somehow by extending some custom loader? I really need this functionality.

I would also be very interested to know when this will provided (I could also give a few examples of business cases + design where this is the most natural and most performant way of mapping classes in an inheritance tree to tables).
