Hello,

We're now going through the basics of hibernation at school. This is a part of our course Object Oriented Analysis and Design.

In the course, they're talking about SessionFactory.createSession() and SessionFactory.openSession(). What's the main difference between these two methods?

Thanks in advance.

Are all this sites wrong? Or is createSession something of a previous release?

Actually, IIRC one of the first versions of Hibernate had a createSession(). This has been years ago. Don't use Google to learn an API, but use the API documentation: http://hibernate.org/hib_docs/v3/api/
