Hi,

I'm using the hibernate-tools-3.1.0.alpha5.zip plugin package on Eclipse 3.1.0
The Hibernate Query Result view works if click on entities or properties of entities under Console/SessionFactory/... but I want to test custom queries.

The tool's documentation shows an HQL Editor View to do this, but I can't find it anywhere. There is a Hibernate Dynamic Query Translator view, but it doesn't do anything. Is this what I would need to use, and how do I use it ?

The Entity Model View doesn't do anything either yet ?

Maybe there is a more up-to-date document somewhere ?

Thanks !
So far a great plugin.

look at the new and noteworthy section on tools.hibernate.org under documentation.

tip: the query editor is accessible via the (apparently too small) icon in the configurations view when you have selected a configuration.

You're a lot further than I am. I don't see ANYTHING in Eclipse. I checked the features and plugins folder everything from the tools archive is there. I don't see the Hibernate Console when I go to Open Perspective, and there are no Hibernate wizards when I go to File->New->Other.

delete all directories in ECLIPSE_HOME/configuration start with org.eclipse (don't delete config.ini only) and restart eclipse

Actually what I thought was the HQL editor was the "HQL scratch pad" I still haven't found out how to enable the HQL editor in my view? I can enter in HQL in the scratch pad but can't execute them?

Any ideas?

you need to open the editor from a configuration view - click on a configuration that has a sessionfactory open and click on the hql editor icon. to execute you press "Ctrl+Enter" or click the Run/Play buutton.

damn i'm too tired - let me rephrase that one:

The HQL Editor can also be opened via the menu item called HQL Scratchpad. It is called "scratchpad" since it basically is editing a scratchpad and not a real file (yet)
