I want to use template defined by myself,but I am disordered about the definitiontemplate,can you provide document about it for me ,It's very few in the website

what are you missing ?

- copy the templates from the hibernate-tools.jar into your own directory
(e.g. hibernate-tools.jar/dao/daohome.vm to mytemplates/dao/daohome.vm)

- make your changes to the template(s)

- set the templates dir to e.g. mytemplates

run

I have modified the templates before,but I only modified some layout of file,I need call the function in inner var,and I need API about it ,and it's function is so few that I can't modify freely

I still have no clue on what you want to do.

You say you have changed the templates, but you still need API to modify the templates well ?!

I want to mapping a column of db that is long type to a field of java.lang.Long,but tools provide the field of long
I do not know How to modify templates

you dont need to change the templates for that - use a reveng.xml file for that. its documented and you can use a wizard to create one.
