 Post subject: indexes in hibernate

hi all,

why creates hibernate with mysql indexes for the primary and foreign keys and with postgresql no indexes (same application and properties)?

i cant find something helpful in the docs or forum. so can anyone help me with this?

Perhaps because Postgres automatically creates indexes for PKs and FKs.

hi Konstantin,

thanks for your reply, but postgresql dont create any indexes implicit.

according to my opinion no indexes are created automatically.

If you create the database schema manually, indexes only exisits, when "create index" is used.

PostgreSQL creates B+tree index on primary key and on "UNIQUE" constraint by default, but probably it depends on version.

yes you are right!

postgresql creates indexes on pk.
these implicit indexes doesnt shown in the pgAdmin (GUI of postgresql), however in the console there are displayed...
