As I add more persistent classes to my project, the application start up time is gradually getting longer and longer. Will it help start up time to be more explicit in the mapping files such as specifying the type for all properties so that not as much reflection is required. My efficiency is really sufferring because of this.

Is there anything I can do?

I would be as explicit as possible. My current project has over 30 different persistent classes (some which have multiple collections of other persistent types, and startup time over an existing .net app (or web app) is neglegible.
