Is it not possible to take a column varchar and convert into a enumerated value through nhibernate mapping?

I am getting a format exception, presumably because it expects a integer and not a string. Any ways around this, except for working with the string and parse that as a enumerated value?

There is, I believe, an EnumStringType in NHibernateContrib that you can use.
