I have an identity column in the class for which I dont want to have a setter value but only i need to get that value back.
of the identity value.If I dont have that value in the hbm file it inserts the value in to the column but I'll not be able to fetch that value.
please provide me your thoughts on this.

Use access="nosetter.<something>", so that the property is set using the field directly, but accessed through the getter.

where will I use this access="nosetter.<something>" is it in the class file or .hbm file can you give me some small example.

Use it in the <id> tag, for example <id name="ID" access="nosetter.camelcase">...</id>.
