Just a heads-up, it looks like the changes to org.hibernate.cfg.Mappings breaks Spring (I'm using 1.2.6).

I have run into this issue, and I was wondering since the time of posting if there has been a solution on either the Hibernate or Spring side.

It seems that org\hibernate\cfg\HbmBinder$SecondPass.class no longer exists, and this is causing spring 1.2.5(6) to fail.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Go to the Spring forum if you have problems with their wrapper stuff. Hibernate works fine without Spring.

SecondPass is *not* a published API and Spring should not be using it.

Upon further inspection, it looks like it may be Hibernate Annotations that's using SecondPass, not Spring.

Why not just use the current versions of all jars, as of the 3.1 final released yesterday?

My original message was from Nov. 19, when 3.1rc3 came out, so it's hopefully moot at this point.

I just ran into this problem today after upgrading from Hibernate 3.0.5 to 3.1, so this problem did not just go away from RC3 to release.

As for checking with spring, I have also posted on their forums seeking assistance.

I find it extremely difficult to believe that if you are using the latest 3.1, with the latest HA and HEM, that you will experience this problem.

Thank you very much for your reply.

It seems that using the newest annotations did solve the problem.

I will pass this information along in the message in the spring forums as well.
