I've been using Xdoclet 1.2.2 for a while now with Hibernate 3.0.5 to generate my mapping files but I've decided that I need to use a newer version. I have been able to upgrade to Xdoclet versions 1.2.3 and have also tried Xdoclet 2 using plugins 1.0.2. My question is, which is better for Hibernate3; Xdoclet 1.2.3 or Xdoclet2?

XDoclet 1.3.x has even more support for Hibernate 3 (get it from CVS) [I know as I have commited some of the updates]. The XDoclet 2 developers have also been working on their H3 support. I would suggest you decide which serves your need the best bye trying them both out. I use XDoclet 1.3.x since I have other uses for it that XDoclet 2 does not do (outside of Hibernate tags)).

It seems that update="true" insert="true" atributes are still ignored by Xdoclet on version 1.2.3.

Use the CVS version. I wish they would release 1.3.x so we could get all the latest features that have been implemented to support H3.
